Once the E-commerce Store add-on is active, you manage everything about your shop from the commerce dashboard. This is where you add the things you sell, keep stock counts accurate, and work through orders as customers buy. This guide covers the day-to-day tasks.
Adding products
A product is anything you list for sale. To add one, open the commerce dashboard and create a new product, then fill in its details:
- Give the product a clear name and description so shoppers know exactly what they are buying.
- Add one or more images. As with the rest of your site, you can upload your own image, paste a link, or generate one with AI.
- Set the price.
- Save the product so it appears in your catalog.
Working with variants
If a single product comes in more than one option — for example different sizes or colors — use variants instead of creating a separate product for each. Variants let one product entry carry several choices, and each variant can have its own stock count. This keeps your catalog tidy and makes it easy for shoppers to pick the option they want at checkout.
Tracking inventory
Inventory tells you how many of each item you have available. Keeping it accurate matters because it stops you from selling something you have run out of.
- Set a stock quantity for each product, or for each variant when you use them.
- Update the count when you receive new stock.
- Watch for low stock so you can reorder before items sell out.
Handling orders
Every time a customer completes checkout, the purchase is recorded as an order in your commerce dashboard. From there you can:
- Open the order to see what was bought, the variant chosen, and the quantity.
- Review the customer and shipping details that came with the order.
- Update the order as you pack and fulfill it, so you always know what still needs to go out.
Keeping things running smoothly
A little routine goes a long way. Check the commerce dashboard regularly for new orders, update inventory whenever stock changes, and keep product descriptions and images current. Because your store lives on the same fast, securely hosted site as the rest of your content, customers get a consistent experience from browsing to checkout.
