Custom Domains

Registering a new domain

Buy a domain inside A3 iFrame with the Register Domain add-on or Business Pro. It's configured for your site automatically, with no manual DNS.

If you don't already own a domain — or you'd rather skip configuring DNS yourself — you can register a brand-new domain directly inside A3 iFrame. The platform buys the domain and wires it up to your site for you, so there are no records to copy and no registrar to log in to separately.

Who can register a domain in-app

Registering a domain inside the app is available with the Register Domain add-on ($9.99/mo) and is included with the Business Pro plan. Once it's on your account, you can search for and buy a domain from your site's settings.

How it works

Buying a domain in-app keeps everything in one place. Because the platform manages the domain for you, the usual DNS steps are handled behind the scenes.

  1. Open the site you want from your dashboard and go to its domain settings.
  2. Search for the domain name you'd like and check that it's available.
  3. Choose the domain and complete the purchase in the app.
  4. The platform automatically configures the domain to point at your site — no manual A or CNAME records to add.
  5. SSL/HTTPS is set up automatically, so your site loads securely once the domain is active.

Why register in-app

  • No manual DNS. You don't have to understand or edit DNS records — it's configured for you.
  • One place to manage it. Your domain and your site live together in your account.
  • Automatic SSL. Secure HTTPS is handled without extra steps.

Already own a domain instead?

If you already bought a domain somewhere else, you don't need to register a new one — you can connect the one you have. That route uses DNS records you add at your existing registrar. See Connecting a custom domain for the steps, and DNS records explained for background.

What to expect after buying

Newly registered domains usually become active quickly, though it can take a little time for the registration and configuration to fully complete across the internet. Once everything is ready, your site is reachable at the new domain over secure HTTPS, served fast through the global CDN. Your free *.myfolio.name subdomain keeps working too.

When choosing a name, pick something short, easy to spell, and memorable, and prefer a common ending like .com if it's available — it's familiar and easy for visitors to recall.
