If your generated site looks empty in places, shows generic text, or is missing details you expected, it almost always comes down to what was in your source document or whether the site has been regenerated since your last change. Here is how to find the cause and put it right.
Your source document was thin
The AI builds your site from the document you upload, so it can only include details that are actually in that document. If a section looks bare, the original file probably did not contain much for it. The fix is to enrich your document and generate again:
- Add a clear About or summary describing who you are or what your business does.
- List your services, products, or offerings with a sentence or two each.
- Include your contact details so a contact section has something to show.
A focused document of roughly 200–4,000 words gives the AI enough to fill out a complete site.
Placeholders were left in
If your document contained placeholder text — things like sample names, "lorem ipsum", or notes to yourself — the AI may carry that wording onto the site. Image placeholders can also remain if you turned that feature on and have not yet replaced them. To fix this:
- Remove placeholder or sample text from your document and regenerate, or
- Edit the text directly in the content editor after generation.
- For images, replace any placeholder by uploading your own, pasting a link, or generating one with AI.
Edits were made but the site wasn't regenerated
There are two ways content reaches your site, and it helps to know the difference:
- Editing your source document changes the material the AI builds from, but those changes only appear after you regenerate the site.
- Editing in the content editor changes the text and images on the published site directly, without a full regeneration.
If you updated your document and the new details are not showing, regenerate the site so the AI rebuilds it from the latest version. Remember that each regeneration counts against your plan's monthly limit.
Quick checklist
- Does your document actually contain the missing details?
- Are there leftover placeholders to remove or replace?
- Did you update the document but not regenerate?
- Would a small edit in the content editor be faster than a full regeneration?
If a whole section came out blank rather than thin, your generation may not have completed cleanly — see Why did my website generation fail?.
Still need help?
If your content is in the document and a regeneration still does not show it, open a ticket from your support page and tell us which section is missing so we can investigate.
