Most generations finish smoothly in just a few minutes, but every so often one does not complete. The good news is that a failed generation almost never means something is wrong with your account — it usually points to the source document or a brief temporary hiccup, and a quick adjustment fixes it. Here is what tends to cause it and what to do.
Common causes
Your document is too long or too short
The AI works best with a focused document. If your file is very long, it can contain too much to shape into one clear site. If it is very short, there may not be enough to build a full website from. Aim for roughly 200–4,000 words of real content.
The content is sparse or unfocused
If a document is mostly headings, links, or scattered notes with little actual text, the AI may not have enough to work with. A site comes together best when your document includes a name or business name, an About or summary, your services or offerings, and contact details.
It was uploaded as instructions, not content
Upload your real content — the words you want on your site — rather than instructions describing the website you want. The AI reads the document as the source material for the site itself.
A temporary issue
Occasionally a generation fails because of a brief, temporary problem on our side rather than anything in your document. In that case, simply trying again is often all it takes.
What to do
- Try again first. If nothing about your document is obviously off, start the generation again — temporary issues usually clear on a second attempt.
- Trim a long document. Cut it down to the most important content and remove anything that is not meant for the public site.
- Enrich a thin document. Add an About section, a list of your services or offerings, and your contact details so the AI has more to build from.
- Check the file. Make sure it is a supported type (Word, PDF, text, or an image) and under the 10 MB size limit.

Don't worry — it's recoverable
A failed generation does not damage your account or any existing site. You can adjust your document and generate again as many times as your plan allows. If you keep your source content clear and within the recommended length, most failures simply go away.
