Every site you create with A3 iFrame comes with a free subdomain, so you have a real, shareable web address from day one. This article explains how the subdomain works, when your site goes live, and how to move to a custom domain when you are ready.
Your free subdomain
New sites are published on a free subdomain that looks like yourname.myfolio.name. This address is included on every plan at no extra cost, and it is a complete, working web address — you can put it on a business card, share it on social media, or send it to a client straight away. It comes with the same fast hosting and automatic HTTPS as the rest of the platform.
Choosing your subdomain
The first part of the address — the yourname piece — is yours to choose. A few tips for picking a good one:
- Keep it short and easy to say out loud.
- Use your name or business name so visitors recognize it.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers where you can, as they are easy to mistype.
Because every subdomain has to be unique, your first choice may already be taken. If so, try a small variation until you find one that is available.
When your site goes live
Going live is part of the generation flow — there is no separate publish button to hunt for. When the AI finishes building your site, A3 iFrame deploys it to your subdomain automatically, and it is live within minutes. The same is true after you edit content and regenerate: the updated version is published to the same address.
Moving to a custom domain
The free subdomain is a great starting point, and many people keep it indefinitely. When you are ready for a more branded address — like yourbusiness.com — you can connect a custom domain instead.
- Make sure custom domains are available on your account. They are included on the Growth and Business Pro plans, or you can add the Custom Domain add-on to any plan.
- Point your domain's DNS at the platform.
- Verification and SSL/HTTPS are handled for you automatically.
For the full step-by-step process, see connecting a custom domain. If you would rather buy a domain inside the app with no manual DNS setup, the Register Domain add-on and Business Pro plan support that too.
