The hero is the large image at the top of your site — the first thing a visitor sees. A3 iFrame gives every generated site one automatically, chosen to suit the category your site belongs to, so you never start with an empty banner.
Where hero images come from
The platform keeps a shared library of hero images organised by category — professional services, food and drink, and so on. When your site is generated, one is selected from the pool that matches your category. Some of those images were produced by AI and some were curated by our team; they are treated identically, so the quality bar is the same either way.
Using your own image instead
A library image is a starting point, not a commitment. In the content editor you can replace the hero with your own photo, exactly as you would any other image on the site — see adding and replacing images. A real photograph of your work, your team, or your premises will almost always outperform a stock image, so it's worth uploading one when you have it.
Getting a different one from us
If you'd rather have a different generated look than upload something, regenerating produces a fresh design and a fresh hero selection. See regenerating your website, and remember that each regeneration counts toward your monthly allowance.
Choosing a good hero image
- Go wide and high-resolution. Heroes are displayed large and full-width, so a small image looks soft.
- Keep the middle calm. Your headline usually sits over the image, and a busy centre makes text hard to read.
- Make it relevant. A picture of what you actually do builds more trust than a generic scene.
- Check it on a phone. Heroes crop differently on narrow screens, so make sure the important part survives.
After changing an image, publish your site so visitors see it. If a new hero isn't appearing, see my site isn't showing my content, or open a ticket from support.
