Getting Started

Building your first website, step by step

Create a site, upload a document, set your preferences, generate, and view it live. Here's the full first-time flow.

Building your first website with A3 iFrame is quick because the AI does the heavy lifting. You bring a document that describes you or your business, choose a few preferences, and the AI designs, writes, and publishes a complete site in minutes. Here's the full flow from start to finish.

Before you start

Have your source document ready. The best results come from a focused document of roughly 200 to 4,000 words that includes your name or business name, an About or summary, your services or offerings, and contact details. For tips on getting this right, see preparing a great source document.

No document to hand? You don't need one. On the same step you can choose Describe your site with AI — type or dictate a few sentences and the AI writes the content for you. See generating your content with AI.

Step by step

  1. Create a new site. From your dashboard, choose to create a site. Give it a name so you can find it later.
  2. Upload your document. Add your .docx, .pdf, .txt, or image file. Files can be up to 10 MB. Reading a Word, PDF, or text file is free; image uploads use AI vision. See supported file types and size limits.
  3. Set your design preferences (optional). Choose a single-page or multipage layout, background and accent colors, a font, a section layout style, and feature toggles such as a contact form, image placeholders, or a Google Map. You can also add a short design instruction of up to 300 characters. More on this in choosing your design preferences.
  4. Generate. Start the generation. The AI reads and normalizes your document, designs a unique blueprint, and writes the Next.js code. This usually takes a few minutes, so you can leave the tab open while it works.
  5. View it live. When generation finishes, your site is published on a free subdomain like yourname.myfolio.name. Open the link to see it live, served over a fast global CDN with automatic HTTPS.

After it's live

Your first generation is a starting point you can refine:

  • Edit content. Use the content editor to update text and images, and use AI writing assistance to draft or improve copy.
  • Manage the menu. Adjust your navigation so visitors find the right pages.
  • Regenerate. Want a completely different design? Regenerate for a brand-new look. Each regeneration counts toward your plan's monthly limit. See regenerating your website.

If something doesn't look right

If the generated site missed something important, it's usually because the source document didn't include it. Strengthen your document with clearer About, services, and contact sections, then regenerate. Tweaking your design preferences and design instruction also steers the result.
